About Winnipeg Local

Winnipeg Local is a curated directory built to help people discover trusted businesses in Winnipeg and surrounding communities. We focus on established local businesses with strong customer ratings, useful services, and a positive connection to the community.

How businesses are selected

Before a business is added, Winnipeg Local reviews available business information, customer feedback, and ratings. This vetting process helps us keep the directory focused and useful instead of listing every business automatically.

What the verified badge means

Businesses marked with the verified badge have completed an individual owner interview with Winnipeg Local. These conversations help us learn how the business started, what it offers, how it serves customers, and what connects it to the local community. We use that interview to create a detailed business spotlight.

A listing without the verified badge has still been vetted through available information and customer feedback, but an owner interview has not been completed.

About the editor

Winnipeg Local is edited by Daniel Lemky, Content Director for Winnipeg Local. Daniel reviews listings and interviews business owners to tell the local stories behind their work.
