About Bodyworks Massage Therapy

A Winnipeg Massage Therapy Clinic Built Close to Home

Bodyworks Massage Therapy is a North Kildonan massage therapy clinic owned by Tracy Comberbach, a Winnipeg-born Registered Massage Therapist who opened the clinic in 2017. Tracy says Winnipeg has always felt like home. She grew up here, stayed close to family, and describes herself as someone who genuinely likes the city, including the rhythms of summer, winter, and the neighbourhoods that make Winnipeg familiar.

That local connection is part of the Bodyworks story. Before opening her own clinic, Tracy spent many years practicing in East Kildonan. When the timing came together to create her own space, she chose to stay in the area where she lived, worked, and had built relationships with patients. According to Tracy, the location made sense because her patient base was already nearby and because she wanted to work in a community she knew well.

Tracy Comberbach and the Start of Bodyworks Massage Therapy

Tracy says the idea of owning a clinic was present from early in her massage therapy career. After graduating from Wellington College and building experience in different clinic settings, she kept the goal in mind until the right opportunity came along. In 2017, she signed a lease and built Bodyworks Massage Therapy from an empty space into a clinic of her own.

Today, Tracy has more than 25 years of experience in massage therapy. Her website notes that she is a member of The Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba and has pursued additional training in prenatal, postnatal, and infant massage, Rapid Neuro-Fascial Reset, therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, lymphatic massage, TMJ-D training through John Corry’s TMJ Mastery course, and ScarWork training with Sharon Wheeler.

A Team Approach to Registered Massage Therapy

One of the themes Tracy returned to in the interview was the importance of the team. Bodyworks includes multiple massage therapists, each with their own training, continuing education, and treatment style. Tracy says experience matters, but she also values what newer therapists bring from recent education, testing, and fresh approaches. In her view, the clinic is stronger when therapists can learn from each other and work together.

That team-first approach also shapes how patients book. Tracy says patients should feel comfortable seeing the therapist who best fits their needs and schedule. If someone usually sees one therapist but needs an appointment with someone else, she wants them to know that is welcome. That flexibility is supported by the way the team communicates and keeps treatment notes for ongoing care.

Massage Services for Pain, Recovery, Relaxation, and Mobility

Bodyworks Massage Therapy describes its work as personalized treatment with patient care in an environment of honesty and dignity. The clinic’s website lists services that include deep tissue and therapeutic massage, lymphatic massage, hot stone massage, prenatal, postnatal, and infant massage, Rapid Neuro-Fascial Reset, treatment for migraines, headaches, stress, and anxiety, TMJ dysfunction treatment, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, ScarWork, and myofascial cupping.

When asked what patients should consider when looking for a massage clinic, Tracy recommends making sure the therapist is an Registered Massage Therapist. Patients shoudl also communicate clearly about what they are looking for. That might mean asking for deeper pressure, a relaxation-focused appointment, stress reduction, or help with a shoulder, hip, or other area of concern. According to Tracy, that communication helps the clinic direct patients toward a therapist who may be a good fit.

A Comfortable and Professional Patient Experience

Tracy says that when patients walk into Bodyworks, she wants them to feel welcomed and comfortable. She described the atmosphere she aims for as professional, "homey", and reassuring, with patients knowing they are being cared for by people who understand their work.

The clinic’s website also points to practical details that support the patient experience, including online booking for existing patients, direct billing, gift certificates, a clear cancellation policy, and a fragrance-free facility. Bodyworks also introduces Atlas, a dog featured on the clinic’s team page, as the clinic greeter — a warm detail that reflects the friendly tone the clinic presents online.

What Patients Say About Bodyworks Massage Therapy

Google reviews for Bodyworks Massage Therapy show a 4.6-star rating from 73 reviews at the time of research. In the reviews returned by Google, patients mention pain relief, feeling listened to, recovery support, and knowledgeable therapists.

Kateryna, who wrote one of the most detailed reviews, says she first visited because the clinic was close to home, then continued after receiving helpful massage treatments. She mentions recovery from competitive bodybuilding training and says Tracy helped her think through stretches, myofascial release treatments, and what had helped alleviate a sciatica flare-up. Kateryna also notes that she has had treatments from multiple staff members and describes the team as knowledgeable, curious, and eager to try techniques that may support recovery.

Another reviewer, Darina, writes about seeing Mario and says he listened to her concerns and tailored the session. Jenny writes about receiving relief from shoulder and neck tension after a long road of looking for answers, and she specifically praises Tracy’s work. Taken together, these reviews support what Tracy says she hopes patients notice: that they feel helped, comfortable, informed, and treated by people who are educated in what they do.

Growing Massage Therapy Services in North Kildonan

Looking ahead, Tracy says she is focused on continuing to grow the clinic, adding more therapists, and expanding the modalities available within massage therapy as team members pursue courses and areas of interest. She sees continuing education as part of the clinic’s development, whether a therapist adds a new technique to their practice or learns through exploring what fits their scope.

Outside the clinic, Tracy loves her dogs. She participates in confirmation, sprinter, chase ability, and other activities with them like paddle boarding, hiking, dock diving, and future scent trials as part of how they keep busy together.

For people looking for registered massage therapy in North Kildonan, Bodyworks Massage Therapy offers a local clinic led by an experienced Winnipeg owner, supported by a growing team, and shaped by Tracy’s goal of creating a professional, comfortable place for patients to receive care.

Customer Review

I have been coming here for a couple of years. Initial reason was due to proximity as it is close to my home. But after getting really great massage treatments here, it has really helped me recover from my competitive bodybuilding training. Not only that, Tracy has been able to help me figure out specific stretches, myofascial release treatments in certain areas as well as help me figure out in the past what has caused my sciatica flare up based on what helped alleviate it. Very knowledgeable staff (I have had treatments done by multiple staff here). Coming here has allowed me to train at the next level due to improved recovery, while keeping my risk for injuries low. Another thing worth noting is staff really enjoy working here. They are curious and eager to trial different techniques to help you recover. I always ask what I can do to improve specific area(s) of concern. If you are committed to stretches, suggestions and recommendations they provide you with, you will see improvement not only during a massage but throughout your days!
